Websites Kent – Accessible Navigation is Key
Creative Venom Ltd have ample experience in designing and developing intuitive and accessible navigation for websites and other online facilities. Our best example can be seen here; http://www.cumberland.co.uk
Website Development Kent – Add categories and sub-categories quickly and easily
This navigation is auto generated from a ‘back-end’ admin so the administrator can quickly and easily add new categories and sub-categories. The system is robust enough to handle all the expansion required to suit the growth of the building societies‘ portfolio.
Website Wire frame development – planning is vital in achieving a successful site
We are used to working from wire frames and nearly always encourage our clients to work this way. Diagrams centered around the flow of a website can often identify potential pitfalls early on and therefore nipped in the bud. http://www.redpagemarketing.co.uk is an excellent example of where we did just that. Working from a wire frame enabled us to recognise regions of the site that would otherwise later lead to possible ‘duplication’ penalties with Google’s search results. A much leaner and ordered site was realised (better for the user and more visible to Google) as a result.
Website CSS – Cascading Style Sheets for ultimate control over the look and feel of your site
Style sheets have been our strength for some time. Again, http://www.cumberland.co.uk http://www..cumberlandbusiness.co.uk http://www.cumberlandestateagents.co.uk and http://www.cumberlandfinancialplanning.co.uk exemplify our expertise in CSS perfectly. The solution here was to provide one structured .css file that easily controlled the ‘look’ and ‘feel’ (following house styles and taking design clues from existing corporate identity) of three websites, by allowing quick access to colours and background images. There is a consistency to the marketing and branding, although each one can be suitably recognised. The website is fast becoming their online flagship and attracting increasing traffic month on month.
Creative Venom have developed their own Content Management System that rivals any already popular system such as WordPress or Joomla
We actively promote our own ‘in-house’ developed CMS (Content Management System) as we believe it to be the best in regards to offering the greatest flexibility to accommodate growth of content and user interaction and simplicity of use. Our system is ‘modular’ based and can therefore be added to. This we have found is attractive to larger organisations that have specific requirements in terms of functionality. http://www.cumberlandestateagents.co.uk saw us develop a bespoke module that allowed them to maintain all their branch information including maps from the admin panel. Another example was a module developed to create an ‘approval process’. This made sure that articles and other pieces of content were approved as necessary before being published.
Manipulation & Customisation of templates
We work with other systems on a daily basis. Other than our own system we prefer to work with WordPress and Joomla. These are written in PHP which is our preferred developing programming language. We can therefore manipulate and customise these templates quickly and easily. We can also build bespoke modules to ‘plugin’ to these community based products. However we favour our own system as we can then provide first rate support for your website and all the code is written entirely by ourselves. http://www.joepubclick.co.uk is a relatively young initiative design and developed by us in WordPress.
Website Development work is delivered in phases
We deliver our work in phases and gain feedback at each stage. This allows us to implement desired changes from the client before progressing the project. Again Cumberland was built using this approach and was efficiently and effectively achieved within the several months scheduled for its development.
Website Design – There are many approaches to successful Online Marketing…
Creative Venom have a vast knowledge base of the Internet at large. We have designed and built Websites for a very diverse client base. Our talent lies in the fact that we can quickly recognise the need and therefore deploy a strategy that will inevitably lead to success with a very high return on investment.
People of Kent have varying perceptions of what a Website is…
A Website can mean many things. These days a user expects a certain level of professionalism from a Website or they simply go elsewhere. Professionalism will only emerge if the need is clearly recognised and then fulfilled by delivering the right measure of functionality. But most of all a Website should be useful. A useful site will be one that is talked about, linked to and book marked. The process of linking along with other positive types of viral marketing will have a huge affect on Google. It’s Search Engine will index your pages and you will appear higher in Search Results.
What do we mean by Functionality…
Five years ago there were a breed of Websites whos primary function was to serve as purely and simply as an Online Brochure. This was almost always regurgitated content from PDF’s or Quark Express files. The Website felt very flat and was merely an Online Directory offering no more than a Home Page, About Us and Contact Us. You could argue that it served a purpose – this could of been a case but often the Design was overlooked and numerous images made up the page which was obviously non-indexed content as far as Google was and is concerned.
Sometimes an Online Presence is a good start…
Online Directory based Websites still serve a purpose today but they, as you would expect, have moved on, and function a little better. A bare minimum package if you like would now typically consist of:
- 2-3 pages of branded content that falls inline with an already established corporate identity or perpetual theme
- Clearly defined contact details including Email and Google Map
- Several links including some external content for further reading and/or PDF’s for download
This is no more than a basic online presence and offers no more than a static listing. However this is often a start point for most businesses and if the web pages have been coded with a long-term view in mind it can form a sturdy platform to build upon. Creative Venom Kent would almost always take this approach so that in a few months time new content may be introduced in an orderly fashion. This could be a brand new category heading or perhaps several pages added to an exiting category. The design although basic should still remain flexible and adapt suitably to rapid growth.
Basic but should still be susceptible to Google Bots…
Although the design may be visibly simplistic and the content limited, it is still of critical importance to offer a site that can be easily indexed by Google, otherwise you could argue that the whole exercise has been a waste of time. There are many techniques a web developer Kent can employ to allow Google ‘Bots’ to ‘crawl’ a website more easily. Creative Venom will always strike the right balance of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) by not overdoing some of the following Search Engine Optimisation techniques:
- Title Tags
- Keywords
- Description
- Article / Post Tags
- Keyword Density
- Link Farming
