All businesses need a ‘face’ but with the right expression to portray the correct message. Informed graphic design can provide the appropriate interface between you and your customers. Creative Venom is a small team of graphic designers who continually work with varied businesses, providing identity and branding solutions to this crucial business need.

The first element of this process to get right is the logo or logotype. These can vary in complexity but essentially simple is best and most effective. The example here shows a logotype with a reinforced ‘X’, symbolism for a strong identity. It is then imperative that the logotype, symbolism and colours are kept consistent across all the following stationery.

Creative Venom have recently designed a suite of stationery for MODOX Construction. We were responsible for name generation, brand creation and identity evolvement. We are now in the throws of translating the printed branding to the web. This will soon see the launch of a website of which the new identity will be reinforced, and some components may be creatively used to add interest.

The typeface chosen was Amplitude. Originally released in 2003, Amplitude derives inspiration from the “ink traps” found in typefaces designed for printing at small sizes on absorbent newsprint. Traditionally, these notches help prevent letter forms from filling in with ink, but Its designer, Schwartz adapted the technique to create a dramatic effect at large display sizes. Consequently this translates well as vehicle signage and livery. The face will work well around the building site when it appears on hoarding and building wrap etc.

If you would like assistance with your brand identity then send us an E-mail, and we will gladly provide you with all the advice and professionalism, required to produce a powerful and persuasive brand for your business.

The advertising appeared in the underground, various stations and other public places with very high foot-fall. “Last time it was team graphics for Speedway and Motorbike racing in Norway and Poland now International Powerboat Racing”. James Palmer-Jones

It is refreshing to work amongst a mix bag of sporting disciplines. We can think from the grassroots each time and working from a blank canvas gives us total creative control. When the design is received as well as it was this time it makes the task even more rewarding.

Below tells the story of the original call-to-brief and how the logo and team graphics evolved along the way. A great project to work on and we were pleased with the results as much as the Jelf Team!
